Daniel Lopez Dias

PhD, Founder and Chief Executive

Daniel established Route2 in 2011. Route2’s values, objectives and services manifest from Daniel’s academic and commercial experiences dating back to 1997. Daniel was a founding employee and the methodological inventor of Trucost Plc (acquired by Standards & Poor’s), now globally recognised for integrating ‘externalities’ into business & investment decision-making. Whilst developing Trucost Plc, Daniel completed his PhD at the University of Vermont’s Gund Institute for Ecological Economics, which involved advising on President Obama’s Climate Action Plan. He subsequently moved to California and worked on Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] software where he was awarded a further patent for a business process integrating environmental considerations. Prior to launching Route2 in London he taught business sustainability – specifically the construction of Carbon Efficient Stock Indices – at the International MBA programme of Tel Aviv University.

Ran (BA MA Hons) joined Route2 in 2018 overseeing the Business Development and Operations functions of the company. He brings a wealth of inter-disciplinary experience on strategy development and sustainability in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors where he held senior management and consulting positions.

Jamie Moore

Head of Product Development & Delivery

Jamie (MSc BSc Hons) is responsible for designing Route2’s products and ensuring their effective delivery. He works with Route2 clients, undertaking modelling to provide insights about how their business operations provide wider societal value. Jamie has extensive experience in data management, information visualisation and project delivery; he designed and delivered a range of large GIS, Data and IT projects with public and private organisations both in the UK and overseas.

William R. Armitage

Will (BSc Hons MRICS) is responsible for managing and growing Route2’s client base. Will was the Managing Director of Xzeres Wind Europe, where he managed a fund specialising in on-shore wind turbine project development. He is a qualified chartered surveyor and worked at Jones Lang LaSalle and Coady Supple, specialising in the disposal and acquisition of commercial real estate assets and portfolios.

Daniel (MA BA Hons) is responsible for shaping and conducting Route2’s research that underpins the integration of non-financial data into conventional models of credit worthiness and wider risk. Daniel also orchestrates Route2’s technology developments that strengthen Route2’s capacity to collect and integrate ground-sourced real-time data and information. Daniel’s research background covers the fields of terrorism, security, human rights and risk; he completed a Master’s degree at King’s College London.

Nini is a founding employee of Route2. Prior to Route2 Nini worked in the classical music industry operating in a public relations capacity for both established and breakthrough artists and in the policy arena of her native Georgia (Ministry of Foreign affairs). Nini holds a BA (Hons) in Business & Italian and is fluent in four languages. Nini is Route2’s resident internationalist.

Joanne Bauer teaches Corporate Social Responsibility: A Human Rights Approach. She is Senior Researcher for the Business and Human Rights Program, at Columbia’s Center for the Study of Human Rights. Bauer also teaches within the Human Rights Program at the School of Continuing Education Summer Session, and, with Anthony Ewing (Columbia Law School) co-leads an international initiative on Teaching Business and Human Rights based at Columbia.

Pooran Desai, OBE

Co-Founder, Bioregional & International Director, One Planet Communities

Pooran has worked on Bioregional projects and enterprises in sustainable forestry (woodland management and products), farming  (reviving the lavender industry of south London), recycling (converting tree surgery waste into biomass for energy) and real estate development. In 1997 he initiated the BedZED project, which in turn led him to initiate the Z-squared (Zero Carbon Zero Waste) and One Planet Living concepts.  He has since worked to implement these concepts in projects around the world, leading teams which have written sustainability strategies for over $30 billion of real estate development.  He has worked as a real estate developer, for example on the One Brighton development. He has also worked on policy, chairing the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ advisory group which recommended A-G mandatory energy ratings for homes which  became national UK policy in 2007. He was voted in the UK’s top five most influential people in construction for the decade in 2010, received a 2009 Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and a World Economic Forum 2011 Schwab Award as European Social Entreprenuer of the Year.

Brendan Fisher’s research and fieldwork explores human behaviour, conservation, development, and natural resource economics. He is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed articles on topics such as poverty, health, ecosystem services and biological conservation. His field research has taken place in Borneo, Cambodia, Mozambique, and Tanzania.

Gregg Verutes is a coastal geographer currently supporting National Audubon Society’s data management, visualization, and reporting systems. He specializes in blending the fields of conservation and technology to empower planners, managers, and analysts who are passionate about protecting the multitude of benefits flowing from nature to birds and people. He has previously worked for National Geographic Society, World Wildlife Fund, and Stanford University. Gregg received his M.Sc. in Geographic Information Science from San Diego State University and his B.Sc. in Policy Analysis & Management from Cornell University.
